이 연구는 레비나스의 ``초월``의 운동을 교육본위론의 대표적인 학자인 장상호의 ``교육의 수레바퀴``라는 관점에서 해석함과 동시에 레비나스의 초월의 운동이 ``교육의 수레바퀴``의 역동적 측면을 드러내는 데에 주는 시사점을 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 이 글에서는 레비나스의 초월의 운동을 주체가 ``자기와의 관계``라는 존재 구조로부터 벗어나 ``타자와의 관계``를 향해 나아가는 역동적인 과정으로 보았다. 레비나스의 초월의 운동과 장상호의 ``교육의 수레바퀴``가 서로에게 기여할 수 있는 바를 탐색하기 위하여 연구자는 다음과 같은 네 가지 작업을 수행하였다. 첫째, 레비나스 철학의 맥락에서 주체의 초월이라는 문제의식을 간략히 살펴보았고, 둘째, 익명적 존재로부터 주체가 출현하고, 주체가 다시 타자로 이행하는 과정을 분석하였고, 셋째, 레비나스의 초월의 운동을 장상호의 ``교육의 수레바퀴``라는 관점에서 해석함과 동시에 레비나스의 초월의 운동이 ``교육의 수레바퀴``의 역동적 측면을 드러내는 데에 기여할 수 있는 바를 탐색하였다. 넷째, 레비나스의 초월의 운동이 지닌 교육적 의미와 의의, 그리고 추후 연구 과제 등을 살펴보았다. 레비나스의 주체의 초월 운동과 장상호의 ``교육의 수레바퀴``에 대한 논의는 서로의 개념의 이해를 확정하는 데에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
This study attempts to make an educational reinterpretation of Emmanuel Levinas` concept of transcendence. The main task of the study is to show the dynamic process of transcendence which repeats itself infinitely in the cycle of deconstructing and reconstructing the subject from ``the relation of the ego to the self`` to ``the relation of the ego to the Other``. This study tries to make explicit four things. First, it examines the position of ego`s transcendence within the context of Levinas`s discourse. Second, it analyzes both the process of ego`s emergence from the anonymous Being and the process of ego`s journey from ``the relation of ego to the self`` to ``the relation of ego to the Other``. Third, it makes an educational reinterpretation of Levinas`s ontological journey from the self to Other. Lastly, it examines educational significance of Levinas`s concept of transcendence towards the Other. Through the study, it is justified that Chang`s ``wheel of education`` which is suggested as an examplary structure of autonomous education in his educational theory would help to reveal educational significance of Levinas`s concept of transcendence towards the Other and that Levinas` concept of transcendence would contribute to the understanding of the dynamic process of Chang`s wheel of education, being rolled over an endless space of wilderness called Soo-Do-Gye, encountering a series of strange transtalents there.
