전문대학을 졸업하고 산업체에 근무하다가 다시 전문대학에 돌아와 전공심화과정을 이수할 경우 학사학위를 취득할 수 있도록, 교육부는 내년부터 전공심화과정을 도입하게 되었다. 이에 전문대학 전공심화과정을 효율적으로 운영할 수 있는 방안마련의 필요성이 제기되어 중요 과제로서 연구할 필요성이 대두되었다. 본 연구는 전문대학이 학사과정으로 전공심화과정을 설치․운영하는데 있어서, 직업교육의 핵심에 위치한 미완성의 전문대학 교육이 완성된 교육제도로 자리 잡을 수 있는 방안을 마련하고 전문대학 졸업자의 계속교육 욕구를 충족시키고 실질적인 대응책을 모색․수립하고자 본 연구를 실시하고자 한다.
