본 연구의 목적은 스토리텔링 기법을 적용하여 수학과 수업설계전략 모형을 개발하기 위함이다. 이를 위하여 문헌연구, 사례분석을 통해 스토리텔링기반 수학과 수업설계전략 모형을 개발하였다. 모형의 타당도를 검증받기 위해 포커스 그룹 인터뷰와 형성평가를 실시하였으며, 형성평가는 본 연구자가 근무하고 있는 부산광역시 인문계 P여자고등학교 3학년 학생을 대상으로 하였다. 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 결과 문제점과 개선점을 바탕으로 수정ㆍ보완하였으며, 스토리텔링기반 수학과 수업설계전략 모형 최종안을 개발하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 스토리텔링 기법을 적용한 수학과 수업설계전략 모형은 새로운 접근방법이라 할 수 있다. 학습자들은 수학교과 학습내용을 맥락에 근거한 수업방법으로 활용하여 수학적 개념을 확실하게 이해할 수 있다. 둘째, 여러 교과목을 적용한 스토리텔링 연구들 중 수학교과에 적용하여 수업설계전략 모형을 개발했다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 수학을 실생활과 연관하여 수학적 개념이 형성되는 과정을 수학 역사 속에서 찾아내어 수업에서 이야기 유형으로 만든 것이다. 그리고 스토리텔링기반 수업은 초중등 과정에서 여러 교과에 실제 수업적용이 가능하하지만, 본 연구는 연구진행의 용이성을 위해 연구자가 근무하는 여자고등학교 3학년을 대상으로 수업을 적용하였다. 따라서 스토리텔링기반 수업은 대학입시를 앞 둔 고등학교 수학과에서는 시간적 한계와 현실적 제한이 있어 보다 실증적인 현장연구의 노력이 필요하다.
The main purpose of this study is to study of the development mathematics instruction designing strategies based on story-telling. For this purpose, this study review literatures related to the story-telling, analysed several instruction designing Strategies based on story-telling in mathematics. Mathematics is a subject which is incoherent and poor in developing students' interests and motivation intrinsically and extrinsically. Although Korean students have shown excellent learning results, they are of more anxiety and less interests and creativity in the subject, compared to those in the countries where they can be exposed to the subject in their daily lives easily. This is also indicated in the results published by PISA. One of the solutions is an instruction based on story-telling, which has been developed to raise versatile international experts by providing students with logical, dramatic and sensible lessons through performing syllabi designed on the basis of story-telling in the class.
