평생교육․평생학습이 확산됨에 따라 성인교육이 하나의 독립적인 연구영역으로 자리매김 하고 있다. 이 시점에서 지난 10년간 한국 성인교육학의 연구동향을 살펴보는 작업은 현재 시점에서 과거를 반성하고 미래를 조망함으로써 보다 체계적이고 효과적인 성인교육연구의 방향과 비전을 수립한다는 측면에서 의미 있는 작업이다. 이 연구에서는 한국 성인교육학을 대표하는 학술지인 ‘Andragogy Today’에 1998년부터 2008년까지 게재되었던 총 270편의 연구논문을 투고자 지역별 분포, 연구주제,연구대상, 연구방법 등의 분석틀을 기준으로 살펴봄으로써 향후 한국 성인교육연구에 대한 시사점을 모색하였다.
With the spread of lifelong education and learning, adult education has been making an independent research area. Thus examining the research trends of Korea\'s adult education for the past ten years will be meaningful in that it will help to establish directions and visions for more systematic and effective adult education researches by reflecting on the past and looking into the future. This study searched for implications for future researches on Korea\'s adult education by reviewing total 270 papers published in ‘Andragogy Today,’ which is one of the major journals in Korea\'s adult education, from 1998 to 2008 with a framework of regional distribution of contributors, research themes, subjects, and methodologies.
