Recent research described the learning of mathematical modelling was so important in the
classroom to carry out the mathematical curriculum successfully, but secondary school
neglected to promote the learning environment of mathematical modelling. This study
developed the model of mathematical modelling appropriate to the our classroom situations
and investigated how they transformed the realistic situations into the mathematical model.
Thirty six students from high school were involved in the experiment for 8 weeks. The results
showed that the experimental group had statistically significant difference in the real problem
solving test and attitude test.
Specially, those students also showed a variety of strategy to translate the problem situations
mathematically and used the group talking to do those works. The average students had their
own technique to generate the understand of modelling situations, but they did not show the
significant ability to pose the meaningful problem.
