Today the law is as important to maintain a democratic society and law is an integral part
of our daily lives. So the citizens of democracy are demanded to have legal mind. Through
Law-related education(LRE), legal mind of students are developed and this is just what we lay
a cornerstone in the foundation of democracy. But traditionally, law-related education in school
has depended upon such techniques which recites texts or remember knowledges.
Consequently, these techniques for teaching about the law didn\'t promote students\' critical
thinking ability and didn\'t contribute to form affirmative attitude toward law. What is more
worse, these traditional techniques degenerated students\' interest in law-related education. For
solving this problems, the first independent LRE class named \'Law and Society\' was established
at the 7th national curriculum. Besides, \'inquiry activities\' is strengthened to develop high
thinking power.
For harmonious legal mind, inquiry activities in \'Law and Society\' textbook should be
included various thinking level\'s questioning. Also, we should recognize importance of inquiry
activities and when \'Law and Society \'textbook is edited, between contents and inquiry
activities, between inquiry activities and questioning should be closely articulated. And learning
contents through inquiry activities should be make up appropriately. By drawing up a this
remedies, LRE will be promoted legal thinking ability and positive attitude toward law as well
as legal knowledge harmoniously with providing various legal experiences in our lives.
