This study attempted to identify the effects of the leadership styles of high school
Taekwondo coaches on player satisfaction and team effectiveness. In order to achieve the goals
of this study, 400 players who participated in the National Sports Festival in 2011 were selected
as a population, and the data were collected by using convenient sampling methods. The data
on 349 participants were applied to real analysis. A questionnaire was used as a research tool,
and SPSS WIN 17.0 was applied to process the data. The results from a multiple regression
analysis are shown below.
First, based on the results of the effects of the leadership styles of coaches on player
satisfaction, with regard to the effects of the leadership types of coaches on task performance
satisfaction, positive effects were observed in training and directory and authoritarian
behavioral factors. Considering the effects of the leadership types of coaches on social
interaction satisfaction, there were positive effects in training and directory, and on democratic,
social support, and positive compensation behavioral factors. With regard to the effects of the
leadership styles of coaches on coach-type satisfaction, positive effects were observed in training
and directory, and democratic and social support behavioral factors.
Second, based on the results of the effects of the leadership styles of coaches on team
effectiveness and the effects of the leadership types of coaches on colleague satisfaction, positive
effects were observed in training and directory, and democratic behavioral factors. With regard
to the effects of the leadership types of coaches on team satisfaction and immersion, there were
positive effects in training and directory, and democratic, social support, and authoritarian
behavioral factors. With regard to the effects of the leadership styles of coaches on perceived

performance, positive effects were observed in training and directory, and democratic, social
support, and positive compensation behavioral factors.
Third, based on the results of the effects of player satisfaction on team effectiveness and with
regard to the effects of player satisfaction on colleague satisfaction, positive effects were
observed in task performance satisfaction, social interaction satisfaction, and the type of coach
satisfaction factors. Considering the effects of player satisfaction on team satisfaction and
immersion, there were positive effects in task performance satisfaction, social interaction
satisfaction, and the type of coach satisfaction factors. With regard to the effects of player
satisfaction on perceived performance, positive effects were observed in task performance
satisfaction, social interaction satisfaction, and the type of coach satisfaction factors.
