본 연구는 전래동화를 활용한 문학 활동이 아동의 상상 기능 및 상상 성향에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 관련 문헌을 기초로 하여 제7차 교육과정에서 제시된 전래동화를 중심으로 하는 문학 활동을 재구성 하였다. 재구성하여 개발된 활동들은 초등학교 3학년 한 학급을 사례집단으로 선정하여 8주간 실험을 하였다. 연구 결과, 전래동화를 활용한 문학 활동은 아동의 상상 기능인 호기심, 탈 규범성, 창조성능력 과 상상 성향인 발견, 가정 , 연상, 추측․예측 , 변형 능력의 사전․사후 검사 결과가 통계적으로도 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 구체적인 내용 분석에서도 전래동화를 활용한 문학 활동이 아동의 상상 기능과 상상 성향의 변화를 보였다. 따라서 고학년에 적합한 전래동화나 고소설의 학습 제재 를 찾아 상상력 신장 활동개발과 상상력 평가 방안에 대한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지도록 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study was to improve children\'s imagination disposition and function in the aspects of a teaching-learning method, emphasizing especially the folk tale part in the literature. For this purpose, one third grade class an elementary school was selected as the subjects for this study. Following a pre-test to assess imagination function and imagination disposition toward literature for the this group had lessons utilizing folk tale during 8 weeks. Afterwards, a post-test was conducted to assess imagination function and imagination disposition toward literature. As a result, the experimental group using folk tale-literature activity improved in the imagination disposition and the imagination function test after the treatment. The experimental group even showed statistical difference noticeably. The literature activity through the folk tales has affected and improved the imagination disposition and function. This is because unknown, timeless, exaggerated and fictional characters and back ground have much stronger effect on fantasizing. According to the results, this study proposed for upper grades teachers to utilize folk tale-literature activities for improving on children\'s imagination.
