The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing Social Work
Self-Efficacy(SWSE) of social welfare undergraduate students, focusing on the interaction
effects of practicum agency and the faculty field liaisons on the enhancement of SWSE. The
changes in pre- and post-practicum Social Work Self-Efficacy showed statistically significant
difference. The analysis of data indicates that the groups which experienced field instruction
such as program planning, case management, and counseling showed higher level of SWSE
than the other groups which did not. The groups which experienced mainly simple
administrative work as field instruction showed relatively lower level of SWSE. In addition,
the groups which received regular supervision from practicum agencies and the groups in
which professors visited the practicum agencies showed higher level of SWSE. Finally, the
study finds that the level of supervision by practicum agencies and the professor's visit to
practicum agencies have statistically significant interaction effects on the enhancement of
SWSE.
