본 연구는 어린이집에서 유치원으로 전직한 교사들이 어떠한 어려움으로 인해 전직을 하게 되었는지 그 이유를 알아본 후에 유치원으로 전직한 후 유치원 생활에서의 만족스러운 면과 새로 직면하는 어려 운 점은 무엇이 있는지 분석함으로써 유아교사들의 삶을 보다 깊이 이해하고 유아교사의 근무여건을 개선하는 데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 어린이이집에서 유치원으로 전 직한 유치원 교사 10명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 어린이집에서 유치원으로 전직 한 이유는 낮은 처우와 부정적인 사회적 인식, 돌봄에 치우치는 교사 역할, 담당 유아를 하루 종일 지 도해야 하는 보육업무로 인한 것이었으며, 둘째, 전직 후 유치원 생활에서의 만족스러운 면은 나아진 처우, 긍정적인 사회적 인식, 교육에 중점을 두는 교사 역할, 유아들의 격려로 나타났다. 그리고 전직 후 유치원 생활에서 경험하는 또 다른 어려운 점은 정규교육 이외의 다양한 유치원 행사와 학부모들의 높은 학업적 기대와 요구, 유아 지도 이외의 과도한 잡무로 나타났다.
This study aimed to examine reasons why teachers changed their job from nursery to kindergarten and to provide the basic information in order to understand the kindergarten teachers' lives deeply by analyzing satisfied or difficult aspects in working in kindergartens. For this study, 10 teachers who moved from nursery to kindergarten, participated in in-depth interviews. The result of the study showed that first, the reasons of changing job were: bad treatment in nursery, negative social recognition, teacher's role focused on too much caring, and all day caring for children. Second, they were satisfied with: improved treatment, positive social recognition, teacher's role focused on education, formal curriculum operation by 2 or 3 o'clock and words of children’s encouragement. Third, they felt difficult with: various events in kindergarten in addition to formal curriculum operation, high expectation from parents, too much miscellaneous work in addition to children education.
