This article attempts to examine details of collection, measure of conservation, method
of research, communication and collaboration, exhibition-connected education, etc. of the
original tombstone for the Great King Kwanggaeto, and suggest its methodologies of
conservation management and safeguarding utilization in perspective of history and cultural
heritage in the East Asia. Inclusively evaluating the value as a documentary heritage, the
significance as history and cultural heritage, and the importance as a universe heritage, we
have to perform the interactive communication stage by stage through exhibiting,
educating, and communicating the value, significance, and importance of Great King
Kwanggaeto and his related heritage as history, culture, and documentary.
The Universe Heritage of UNESCO proposed by Professor Choe, Jong-Ho in 2011 can
be categorized into five groups : Biosphere Reserve (1971), World Heritage (1987),
Memory of the World (1997), Global Geoparks (1999), and Intangible Cultural Heritage
(2001). As the Rubbing-inscription from the Original Tombstone for the Great King
Kwanggaeto and the Original Tombstone for the Great King Kwanggaeto have a value,
a siginificance, and an academic importance as a universe heritage, we need to perform
a survey in the museological aspect, to collect, classify, conserve and utilize the related
materials and informations, educate them through exhibition, communicate through
education and promote interactive communication through a series of procedures.
