The purpose of this study was to examine research trends by reviewing research that bear on the five value domains of physical activities (i.e., Health, Challenge, Competition, Expression, Leisure) in 2007 and 2009 revised elementary physical education curriculum. For this, 51 research were analyzed, including journals centered on 「The Korean Journal of the Elementary Physical Education」, 「Korean Journal of Sports Pedagogy」, 「The Korean Journal of Physical Education」 and 「Korean Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance」, and dissertations of Graduate Schools of Education. I found that the domains of ‘challenge’ and ‘competition’ were most frequently conducted in the research: Health Activities (n=2), Challenge Activities (n=15), Competition Activities (n=20), Expression Activities (n=11) and Leisure Activities (n=3). Moreover, the research topics and subjects have different patterns according to the degree of similarity to 7th curriculum content system, curriculum applicable year and specific factors of the value domain of physical activities. There is need for further research to keep a balance in research between values domain of physical activities, to explore in further depth the processes of how to realize a range of value embedded physical activity in school physical education.
