Museum education indicates that museums educate leaners out and inside of the museums. As museum education related to schools means educational activities for schools and students, when it comes to Out-reach Program, it offers classes about object placed on museums to schools and other institutions, while visiting those places directly.
This study introduced class cases of Out-reach Program subject to elementary school students performed by Gongju National Museum in 2010 and the National Folk Museum of Korea in 2014. After classes, a survey was conducted by students and teachers. Both were highly satisfied with the program and willing to participated in Out-reach Program again.
But there are some problems with the program. Those are the program has limits to time and distance, is mostly taken once, deals with limited relics and is not able to deal with real relics.
In spite of the problems, as the fact both students and teachers at schools had positive attitude towards expectation and effects of Out-reach Program was revealed through a user perspective survey, Out-reach Program is expected to expand educational effects.
