The purpose of this study was to develop the human rights education
program for young children based on the theory of experimental learning and
analyze the effects of the program. The subjects were 49 five-year-old children.
The effects of the program were assessed attitude toward child\'s human rights
through pre- & post-test before and after the application of program. In
addition, actual class episodes were analyzed. The episodes were derived from
the 16 sessions of interaction between teacher and children in human rights
education program based on the theory of experiential learning.
As a result of the study, human rights education program for young
children improved attitudes toward child\'s human rights: basic rights, rights
of equality, rights to freedom, economic rights, political rights and social
rights. And children\'s concepts related to human rights developed through 4
stages in teacher\'s teaching-learning process: the concrete experience, the
reflective observation, the abstract conceptualization, and active
experimentation.
