The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of elementary students
in 4th to 6th grades about energy and climate change. The survey was conducted at an elementary
school located in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. 80 students of fourth, fifth and sixth grade participated
in the survey, and they expressed their knowledge of foundation, issues, and strategies that are
necessary in educating about energy and climate change. Results of the survey showed that the
students had misconceptions about the issues of energy and climate change. As a result, this research
suggests ways that guide how energy and climate change education be carried out to help students
correct, misconceptions in elementary school.
