The efforts to improve the quality of teaching in higher education depend on the efforts of faculty themselves and organistic level such as development and implement of a teaching development program, construction and implement of a teaching center, and development of a supportive teaching culture. Among several kinds of work pertaining to strategies for teaching improvement, most important things are faculty's self-development approaches through systematic programs for teaching improvement.
In these perspectives, the purpose of this study is to develop the program for instructional improvement(teaching effectiveness) of faculty in university and test of its effects. As the results of review on articles and theories about effective teaching behaviors, and faculty and students thinks important variables of contents of teaching development program are such as (1) faculty's general attitude about teaching and students (2) preparation of the course (3) clarity and understanding the course (4) construction of the contents and course (5) task orientation instruction (6) stimulation of the students' motivation and participation (7) enthusiasm and dynamics (8) positive interaction between teacher and students. I suggest that these 8 variables are important variables for effective teaching behavior. And this program enables the professors to make a plan for effective teaching, prepare what they should do during teaching.
However, when use this program for teaching improvement, it will be important to remember that this program is potentially valid, so tests of the program for teaching improvement are matters for further research.
