The purpose of this study was to compare of general education teachers and special
education teachers on problem behaviors and strategies to manage problem behaviors
of students with disabilities. To accomplish this purpose, 194 participants were
elementary schools teachers in the area of Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Deajeon and were
charged in special education class and inclusive class.
The results of this study were as follows; First, general education teachers reported
deficit of social interaction and unfaithful learning attitude, and special education teachers
reported aggressive behaviors towards others and self-injurious behavior as the most
challenging behaviors problems to manege with. Second, regarding intervention strategies
to manage problem behaviors, special education teacher reported using a variety of ways
in antecedent intervention, consequence intervention, and alternative behavior
interventions. However, general education teachers general education classroom teachers
showed to use interventions more frequently related to the antecedent event than others.
