이 연구는 이재용 외(2008)의 팀 활동하기의 원리와 실행을 참고하여 구체적인 활동내용과 실행 전략을 연구현장의 여건에 맞게 수정 및 보완하고 실행하였다. 이러한 팀 활동하기로 구성된 초등체육수업이 초등학생 5학년의 책임감 단계 변화에 미치는 과정을 기술하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권에 소재한 초등학교 5학년 학생 29명(남학생 14명, 여학생 15명)에게 18차시의 팀 활동하기를 적용한 수업을 실시하고 학생들이 작성한 질문지 및 면담과 교사의 수업 관찰 및 교사일지를 통해 얻어진 정보를 종합적으로 분석하였다. 이들 자료를 토대로 팀 활동하기 수업을 통해 나타난 행동양식을 Hellison(2003)의 책임감 단계에 접목하여 변화를 분석하였다. 이 연구를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생은 팀 활동하기를 통해 자기 자신뿐만 아니라 타인의 권리와 감정을 존중할 필요성이 있음 을 인식하고 행동으로 추구했거나 추구하려고 노력했다. 둘째, 팀 활동하기는 수업에 적극적으로 참여하고 문제를 해결하기 위한 노력을 하도록 이끌었다. 셋째, 팀 활동하기는 학생들에게 주어진 과제를 해결하기 위해 스스로 계획을 세워 과제에 참여하도록 했다. 넷째, 팀 활동하기는 타인에 대한 부정적인 사회적 말과 행동을 제한하도록 하여 긍정적인 의사표현이 팀 활동 과제 해결에 도움이 된다는 것을 인식하도록 하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the 5th graders' responsibility level changes through team building activities. A total of 18 physical education lessons were taught to the 29 fifth graders (14 boys and 15 girls) from September of 2009 through November of 2009. Data obtained from participant observations, interviews and document analyses were analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the children participated in the team building activities made an attempt to respect the rights and feeling of others as well as those of themselves. Second, team building activities induced the efforts of the children to participate in the physical education lessons actively and to solve the problems. Third, team building activities allowed the children to make plans and discussed strategies voluntarily to solve the given tasks. Fourth, team building activities propelled them to perceive that the negative words and behaviors were useless and the positive expressions of their ideas and feelings were helpful in overcoming the challenges of the team building tasks.
