본 연구는 대도시, 중소도시, 군읍면의 장애인 보조공학기기, 보조공학서비스, 지원제도 활용수준을 비교분석하기 위한 것이다. 연구대상은 만 6세～69세의 대도시, 중소도시, 군읍면에 거주하는 장애인 616명으로 이들에 대한 실태 자료를 빈도분석 하였고, 문항의 특성에 따라 카이제곱(? ) 검증을 통해 도시규모별 비교 분석을 하였다. 연구 결과는 보조공학기기 사용에 대한 정보를 모두 복지관 및 관공서를 통해 제공받는다고 응답한 비율이 가장 높았다. 그리고 대도시와 중소도시에서는 친구나 가족, 병원을 통하여 보조공학기기 확보 관련 정보를 활용한다는 비율이 그 다음으로 높게 나타났다. 보조공학서비스에 대해서 군읍면의 경우 50%가 전혀 모르고 있다고 응답하였고 보조공학서비스 전문기관을 이용해 보았다고 응답한 사람은 1명도 없었다. 대도시와 중소도시에서 보조공학서비스를 이용해본 경험이 있는 응답자들은 복지관을, 군읍면에서는 읍면동사무소를 보조공학서비스 기관으로 인식하고 있었다. 이용한 보조공학서비스의 내용으로 군읍면에서는�보조공학기기에 대한 욕구 및 능력 평가가 가장 많았고, 대도시와 중소도시는 보조공학기기 확보 비용지원�이 가장 많이 나타났다. 보조공학기기 지원제도의 인식에서는 대도시가 가장 높게 나타났고, 보조공학기기 지원제도에 대한 이용경험은 중소도시가 가장 높았으며, 보조공학기기 지원제도에 대해 전혀 알지 못하고 있는 경우는 대도시와 중소도시보다 군읍면이 더 높게 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the disparity status of usage on assistive technology devices, services, and support system by size of cities. The study participants were 616 persons with disabilities from 6 to 69 years of age in large-, medium-, and small-sized cities. Raw data from a previous survey were analyzed in frequencies and chi-square (? ) test by size of cities. As a result, users had information about assistive technology devices at welfare institutes and public offices the most. Many repliers in large- and medium-sized cities also said that they had the information from friends, family members, and hospitals. The participants of 50% in small cities responded that they did not know about assistive technology service and no one had used assistive technology centers. The participants who had used assistive technology service perceived welfare centers in large- and medium-sized cities and county or town offices in small-sized cities as assistive technology institutes. The most service received was cost support to purchase assistive technology devices in large- and medium-sized cities and evaluation of assistive technology needs and physical functions in small-sized cities. The most participants were awareness of assistive technology support system in large cities and had used it in medium-sized cities. The rate of the repliers who did not know about assistive technology support system at all was the highest in small-sized cities comparing to large- and medium-sized cities.
