본 연구는 특수학교의 보조공학에 대한 실태 조사로 현재 특수학교에서는 어떠한 보조공학 기기와 서비스를 보유하고 있으며, 어떻게 활용하고 있고, 어떠한 체계로 장애학생들에게 보조공학 기기와 서비스를 제공하고 있는 지를 탐색한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 전국 98개 특수학교를 대상으로 설문을 실시하였는데, 설문지는 크게 보조공학 구비와 활용, 보조공학 전달로 구성하였다. 보조공학 구비와 활용 영역은 학습지원,컴퓨터 사용 지원, 의사소통 지원, 이동 및 자세지원, 일상생활 지원으로 나누어 특수학교의 보조공학 환경을 조사하였고, 보조공학 전달 영역은 보조공학 계획, 보조공학 결정 및 제공, 보조 재정으로 구성하여 특수학교에서 보조공학이 전달되는 상황을 파악하였다. 본 연구는 특수학교의 보조공학 환경에 대한 전반적인 이해와 더불어 앞으로 특수학교에 보조공학과 관련된 지원과 기본적인 정책 수립을 하기 위한 기초적인 자료로 활용될 것으로 예상된다.
This research seeks to survey the overall status of assistive technology of special schools by identifying what assistive technology devices and services special schools currently have, how they use it, and under which systems they provide assistive technology devices and services to disabled students. To this end, 98 special schools nationwide were surveyed using questionnaires. Survey areas were possession and utilization of assistive technology, and delivery of assistive technology devices and services. Possession and utilization of assistive technology were categorized into support for learning, use of computers, communication, transfer, and daily life to survey the assistive technology environment of special schools. delivery of assistive technology devices and services consisted of plans on assistive technology, decision on and provision of assistive technology, and finances for assistive technology to survey the situation of providing assistive technology at special schools. This study is expected to help have overall understanding of the assistive technology devices and services environment of special schools, as well as help provide assistive technology devices and services related support to special schools and establish related basic policies.
