The purpose of this study was to explore the interpretive experience and the perception of teachers and
students in the process of developing and applying the teaching-learning method for creativity and
character-emphasized elementary physical education class. The study period in the planning stages of research
including data collection and analysis were carried out during March 2, 2012 to September30th, 2012. Two
elementary school teachers and four elementary students participated in this study. Data collection includes
photo-elicitation interviews, non-participating observation and document collection. Data were analyzed and
transcribed using constant comparison and triangulation of data sources until themes emerged. Member
checking and peer debriefing, and triangulation were used during data collection and analysis to assure
trustworthiness and credibility of results. Based on the result of this study, the teachers' experiences and
perceptions were categorized. as 1) a castle in the air : the complex of the ambiguous words, 2) the burden
hundredfold : sparkling creative teacher? a good teacher like gentleman, 3) superwoman and MacGyver's
self-sufficiency, 4) 'a day time stopped' in the fantasy were categorized. In addition, the students' experiences
and perceptions 1) good PE? Bad PE? strange PE?, 2) Asura Earl teacher with two faces, 3) practice makes
perfect.
